The North Texas Autocross Series (NTAXS) uses roaming technicians to perform on-site vehicle inspections within the paddock on the morning of the event. Rather than requiring you to wait in a tech queue, you simply prepare your car for the event, leave the hood and trunk open (if the weather allows), and leave the doors unlocked. The technician will come by and verify your car meets the technical criteria. If it does, then they will affix a tech sticker to the upper-left corner of your windshield. If they have questions or concerns, then they will have you summoned back to your car.

- The car numbers are present, correct, and properly visible.
- The interior and trunk are void of loose objects.
- The tires are not corded or otherwise damaged.
- The seatbelts are functional.
- The brakes have proper pressure and the braking system is in a maintained condition.
- The throttle return functions.
- The driver’s floor mat is secured with factory holders or removed.
- The wheel bearings do not have significant play.
- All lug nuts are present and torqued.
- Hub caps and wheel covers are removed.
- The battery is properly secured (factory battery tie-downs are preferred).
- There are no significant fluid leaks.
- Approved helmet.
